What Hapened to Andrew Baird After the Crash?

After the drunk driving accident involving Andrew Baird, leaving four dead and one paralyzed, Andrew Baird pretty much threw all of his life goals away. His senior year holding a consistent GPA of 4.33 and an accumulative GPA of 3.8, he managed to get an academic scholarship to the School of Westminister College in Utah. Andrew being quite the scholar was always involved in school work activities and always spent his extra time playing high school sports. Never acquiring the reputation of a “bad kid”, Andrew was never suspended or in trouble with the law. He was actually quite the people pleaser, Andrew used his kindness and comedy to brighten peoples’ days and bring joy to anyone who seemed like their day was going a little rough.  However, this reputation was lost due to the fact of him deciding to drive his car intoxicated.
Not only was Andrew studious, he was also an Academic athlete. Playing lacrosse all four years of high school, he managed to work his way up to be one of the captains of the team. Andrew used his leadership skills to help carry the team on to becoming the league champs. With this Andrew got many college opportunities for sports and soon added on to his academic scholarship at Westminister by earning an athletic scholarship also. Due to both these scholarships Andrew almost got a free ride to college that made him and his family more than proud. Consequently, the accident left many devastated including his team, family, the victims families, and the one who felt the most pain, himself. After being given his sentence of ten year in the State prison, Andrew lost the opportunities and life goals he once worked so hard for and changed his life in a vigorously way that left him scarred forever.

After receiving his 10 year sentence for the killing of four kids and leaving one paralyzed, Andrew Baird was quickly sent to the San Diego correctional facility. At the hearing, Andrew was very sympathetic and pleaded with all his heart to the judge to give him the minimal sentence. However, considering the emotional damage that Andrew did to multiple families and kids the judge did not find it enough to overlook his decisions that he made that night, thus giving Andrew the maximum sentence of 10 years. Andrew Baird left the Court House devastated knowing that all his hard work in school and sports was thrown away due to one decision. The situation that Andrew was suddenly thrown into left his parents, Carine Baird and Tom Baird, in complete, utter devastation. Andrew’s parents viewed him as the class-clown of his senior class, but also knew he was a studious kid who was always on task at school reflected by his academic scholarship he received to Westminster in Utah.  Although his parents were very mournful for Andrew’s sentencing, they were very respectable towards the families of the victims and apologetic on behalf of Andrew. Now that Andrew Baird was put in jail for the next 10 years of his life, his parents and schoolmates would have to adjust their lives to a life without him.
